Home Herbal Apothecary with mini medicine making course 10AM-2PM
Herbal classes are amazing, but the number one takeaway most people are looking for is how they can apply herbal medicine to their life and family. Classes often forget to include this practical application. This class will address the most common “home apothecary” issues such as headaches, colds, diarrhea, constipation, heartburn, allergies, mild insomnia, cuts and scrapes, and more– think all those little things you know how to treat with OTC drug store items. We will discuss adequate herbal substitutes and strategies for combating these common complaints and go over dosages so that you leave feeling equipped to tackle these pesky complaints through the “farmacy” instead of the pharmacy. In this expanded class we will demonstrate how different types of water extractions are made, taste them, and incorporate a “food as medicine” seasonal lunch (included with your ticket)!

Take this class with or without a “home herbal apothecary” kit with our healing salve and 5 tinctures that would work best for your family. This kit is available for $65 as an add on to the class, but is a $95 value.

At Walden Farms we engage in a type of regenerative farming known as permaculture in which we believe in the intelligence of natural systems and thus try to mimic the way in which ecosystems grow.  We see ourselves as the conductor, choosing which plants will come together to create the symphony of our land.  Permaculture farms don’t look like what one may expect a farm to look like, but we love to share what we do with the public in hopes it will inspire! Join us for an indoor presentation on the basics of permaculture followed by a tour explaining how we implement these practices on our farm.
